15 July photos

Despite the dire weather forecast - heavy showers, thunder storms, and there was even a flood warning! - Sunday the 15th of July turned out to be quite a good day, especially when compared to most of what has passed for Summer this year. Anyway, it was good enough for hundreds of people to find their way to Blake School, where the West Oxfordshire Cats Protection (who celebrated their 10th anniversary) and Cogges Vets held a fête & dog show. Although the sun could not quite break through, it became warm early in the afternoon, and this undoubtedly contributed to the good times we all had.

As before (2 years ago), this was a real family outing - there were pony rides, there was a Climbing Wall, there were fairground rides, the inevitable bouncy castle, and there was lots of good food, including delicious burgers and hotdogs provided by John Williams.

The novelty dog show was a big hit. It was organized and sponsored by Robin Smart of Oscar Pet Foods and judged with expertise and obvious enjoyment by Judith Walker and her able assistant.

The high humidity did have an influence, as it prevented the Siberian Huskies display from taking place - instead we were all introduced to the individual canine members of the team and were given a good deal of fascinating information about these fabulous dogs.

We hope you all enjoyed it much as we did. Any feedback is welcome.
