How would you feel if your pet strayed, became lost, or worse still, was stolen?

This kind of thing happens every day, and if an animal cannot be identified, it cannot be returned to its owner.

Now there is a solution. The microchip.

The implantable microchip is just 12mm long & 2mm in diameter, which makes it about the size of a grain of rice. It is made from inert materials to avoid rejection by the body and has an anti-migration cap to avoid movement once professionally implanted. Each microchip carries a unique identification number.

The chip is implanted by a Veterinary Surgeon or Nurse, using a special pre-packed sterile needle. It is a simple injection in the scruff of the neck, similar to an annual vaccination.

Scanning

When the microchip has been inserted, you will receive a small tag to put on your pet's collar. This tells everyone that the animal has been microchipped. Should your pet stray, or be picked up by the local authorities, or be dropped at a veterinary surgeon, a scanner will read the chip's unique number. The PetLog secure database, which is accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days par year, will identify the animal and its owner, and a happy reunion will ensue.
