Olivia came into the surgery after having delivered 3 puppies at home. The 4th, however, was well and truly stuck.

Claire, one of our vets, could feel the 'stuck pup' in the birth canal with a paw out in front and its head turned backwards. Unfortunately, as there was very little chanceof this pup emerging unaided, Olivia was prepared for a caesarean.

The caesarian was successful and 3 more puppies were delivered.

As can be seen from the pictures, Olivia and her brood are doing extremely well. Olivia is an experienced and caring mother and her pups are thriving.
